Being obsessed with 90s Chicago house, we were overjoyed to hear that Ray Barney and regular conspirator Parris Mitchell would be rebooting Dance Mania back in 2013. The mid-to-late 90s marked a golden period for the label as it grew into a significant outlet for percussive, rough cut dance tracks, but external factors forced Barney to shut up shop abruptly in ’99. Two impeccably curated Strut compilations have provided an access point since the label’s return, but some of the most coveted releases have also been hitting the shelves, and for the first time in well over a decade.

Repressed and remastered for the modern age, the latest off the Dance Mania production line are sure to fill gaps in a few collections. Classic efforts from Parris Mitchell and Marshall Jefferson should be available soon, but it’s the two Paul Johnson 12″s that really caught our eye. From ‘Give Me Ecstacy’ to ‘Freaks In Front’, these are absolute essentials. Don’t sleep!

These new arrivals are expected at the end of the month but you can pre-order now from Redeye.
