A Red Bull Music Academy inductee in 2016, Lamusa II is plotting his trajectory in a relatively unhurried fashion. That quality is also a feature of his music, as proven on Club Mondo 2000, the mini-album released on Gravity Graffiti earlier this year. While some of it is geared towards the dancefloor, furnished with glissading new age atmospherics and balmy, low-slung grooves, the hazy reveries of his “multi-timbral music” hint at a leisurely exploration of some uncharted exotic paradise. Taking a similar approach with a contribution to our podcast series, the Italian producer meanders through seventy odd evocative minutes of kalimba arrangements, cosmic vignettes, Casio preset-esque electric bass and bewitching Japanese avant-garde.
