The leftfield electronics inhabiting Antinote‘s back catalogue come in various forms. For a label originally conceived to release material recorded in the ’90s by Gwen Jamois AKA Iueke, the music policy has grown increasingly relaxed, evolving into an outlet for Paris’ burgeoning experimental scene. Inoue Shirabe’s mutant strains of house and techno rub shoulders with the dreamy synth-pop sensibilities of Domenique Dumont, while D.K.’s modern take on the Balearic beat has enjoyed plenty of rotation.

Now celebrating 5 prolific years, the milestone has been marked with a compilation that head honcho Zaltan unveiled in May. Syracuse-affiliated duo Natsukashii and Bordeaux crew, The Simplists, represent new additions to the label’s expanding family, but the album is mainly comprised of familiar faces. As expected, the 14-tracker entitled 5 Years of Loving Notes is a comprehensive distillation of the Antinote sound.

5 Years of Loving Notes is out now on Antinote – buy it in vinyl and digital formats.
