We’re big fans of the Stockholm-based synth weirdos best known as Mount Liberation Unlimited. Their productions are imbued with a playful eccentricity, embracing the weird and wonderful in a way that draws comparisons with Antipodean duo, Zanzibar Chanel. Their live sets are spacey, synth-led expeditions that shimmer brightly in even the darkest of spaces.
Spontaneity is key when MLU hit the studio, and their latest offering comes in the shape of a free download, recorded in one take earlier today. Resplendent with sweeping melodies – courtesy of a Korg Polysix and Roland’s Juno 106 – and daubed in tape-saturated echo, the live jam fizzes with an irrepressible energy, slowly unfurling it goes along.
