Through the unholy union of an emerging label and established mainstay comes Apollo Noir‘s third album. A joint effort from Santé Records and Joakim’s Tigersushi imprint, Weapons has been cited as a milestone release for the French artist.

Liner notes suggest the album lands somewhere between Minor Threat, SOPHIE and Slayer. Our premiere, however, is quite a distance from something sounding like the byproduct of that unlikely studio session. Between brutal moments, ambient swells and bleeding-edge sound design sits ‘Couteau’; an acerbic amalgam of gnarled electro rhythm, industrial timbre and smudged vocal manipulation, it, like much of the album, gives rise to this sense of overdriven chaos.

Weapons is out November 27th on Santé Records x Tigersushi | Pre-order here
