Following an inaugural release from Stockholm’s Axel Boman, Parisian label Third Try Records goes foraging in the Swedish wilderness once again for its fourth offering. Complete with remix from Detroit don Marcellus Pittman, a sultry debut for Gabriella Borbély AKA Bella Boo sees the relatively unknown producer set her stall out strongly on the opener, ‘Diana’. It finds Borbély at her most meditative; a graceful, massaging arrangement of Rhodes and syrupy analogue bass, juxtaposed against an overdriven kick drum that anchors the tinkling keys and additional atmospherics. Somewhat amorphous, Bella Boo’s dreamy melodicism pervades the composition like a pleasant aroma. Let it linger.
