Uncanny Valley mainstay and Rat Life subsidiary mastermind Credit 00 ejects the cartridge from his debut long-player, Game Over, ditching the retro-futurist 8-bit video game sounds to make a contribution to the latest R.A.N.D. Muzik release. There’s no beating round the bush from the pressing plant-come-label here: 4 cuts offering “electro music from the city of Leipzig” exclusively, spread across the same 12″. Robyrt Hecht, XY0815, Varum and Perm all feature but Credit 00 closes proceedings with ‘On Hold’, a track explicit in its Detroit influences. Synths ripple outward from the centre and a zigzagging, elasticated bassline acts as the glue, achieving an otherworldliness usually attributed to names like James Stinson and Gerald Donald.

RM12001 is out now on R.A.N.D. Muzik Recordings – buy it direct from the label.
