Yaws steps up for Alien Jams with this fun and explorative six-tracker. Constructed back in his native Australia, the now London-based producer wrote these tracks during a turbulent Visa renewal process. This EP sees the producer taking on skeletal structures, characterised by gritty overdriven drum patterns and sporadic acidic squelches. It’s harsh, tactile, and direct, best epitomised in ‘Glower’s bulky washed-out bass hits. As explorative as it is playful, New draws on tropes of electro, electroclash, dancehall and ghettotech. Despite holding no specific tempo, each track shares a similar sense of hurtling momentum.

New is out November 23rd on Alien Jams – pre-order direct from the label.
