When he isn’t trolling Pitchfork contributors, DJ Sotofett can be found experimenting with mutant strains of house, techno, dub, reggae, ambient and jungle like a long-haired Victor Frankenstein. FIT Sound, Club No-No and Thug Records are just a few labels he’s found his way onto and the Sex Tags co-owner is now set for a return to the latter.  Thug mastermind Zarate_Fix’s only release to date, on the other hand, arrived in August – as part of a split 10″ on Sotofett’s Wania imprint – but the pair are joining forces for a collaborative release due early next month.

Recorded over two sessions in 2015 and 2016 – complete with “couch supervision” from Sotofett’s brother DJ Fett Burger – Planetary Involvement will feature three different versions of the title track. From the shuffling rhythms and vaporous synths of the original mix to the percussive dub version and blissed-out ambient transmission, there’s something there for everyone, providing you like your music textured and hypnotic.

Planetary Involvement is out on October 7th via Thug Records – pre-order the vinyl here.
