Like that of fellow Norwegian veteran Skatebård, the sound Bjørn Torske developed is considered a processor to the countrymen that followed in their footsteps – fraternal duo Sotofett and Fettburger, Telephones and even Todd Terje cite him as a significant influencer. Peddling a Nordic brand of galactic disco and mesmeric psychedelia the past few years have seen both fresh material and reissues arrive on labels like Sex Tags and Smalltown Supersound. The number of his fans around the globe has swelled as a result, with Torske playing helping to fuel a renewed appetite for Scandinavian electronics.
Armed with a music policy as adventurous as it is eclectic, London-based promoter AM Trips will host the Norwegian later this month. Taking place at The Flying Dutchman in Camberwell, support comes from AM Trips resident Flexam, rounding off a party that promises to expand minds and horizons.
Bjorn Torske and Flexam play AM Trips at The Flying Dutchman on May 27th – buy tickets here.
