Soundtrack edits, drug chugs, lo-fi jungle, Australian bush disco and tape-damaged house.

This Is Not America (Smackos EMAX Disco Remix) [follow link to download]

Legowelt’s blog is a treasure trove of free downloads, from old productions and mixes to sample kits of vintage synthesisers. Assuming one of his many aliases, the latest freebie finds the Hague-based producer remixing a David Bowie and Pat Metheny Group soundtrack, taken from the 1985 film The Falcon and the Snowman.

Psychick Warriors Ov Gaia – Obsidian (Drvg Cvltvre Rebuild)

Psychedelic overlords of tripped-out trance and techno, the Psychick Warriors ov Gaia have left an indelible mark on music makers with a taste for the weird and wonderful. Drvg Cvltvre certainly agrees, putting his own spin on a Timothy Leary-sampling classic from the Dutch collective.

Aquarium – Sotokander Riddim Dub02

Aquarium aka 外神田deepspace exhibits his versatility, getting on a jungle tip on his latest free download. Flying kicks and dubbed-out chords sheathed in a lo-fi casing. The first one didn’t last long so grab it while it lasts.

Tamas Jones – Australian Edit 2

You’ll probably know Tamas Jones for his work as one half of Carpentaria and a killer vocoder-heavy edit released on Public Possession, but here’s a free slice of “Australian bush disco” from a couple of years back.

Slim Steve – Less Is More Jam

The title says it all. Stripped-back and raw, Slim Steve‘s latest freebie is a tape-damaged house cut tailor-made for warehouses and low-ceilinged basements.
