Ambient drifts, Italo ordnance, Middle Eastern psych and much more…

Super Studio – Vol. 1 & 2

Hot on the heels of Vol.1 (which contains contributions from D. Tiffany, Neo Image and Bleaker), Glaswegian collective Super Studio! made a compilation featuring the likes of PowderLo Kindre and 5ive available as a free download to promote a recent party at Clydesdale Cricket Club. Expect avant-garde transmissions, ambient drifts and blissed-out house cuts.

In Flagranti – Twentyfive Dollar Trick (Super Drama Mix)

Returning the favour after In Flagranti remixed a track from their eponymous debut, London’s Super Drama reinterpret on one of the Swiss duo’s recent productions. Sleazy and percussive industrial timbres into rousing Italo dancefloor ordnance.

Inner Self – My Xperience [via XLR8R]

Taking a break from exploring the hardcore continuum under his Trust Image moniker, Andrew Stefano just dropped an album on West Coast powerhouse 100% Silk. A meeting of bottom-heavy grooves and gliding, tranquil pads in true 100% Silk fashion.

Tikum 84pc edit

Once the collective alias for the Tel Aviv-based trio of Asaf Samuel, Naduve and Katzele, 84PC is best known for a handful of outings on Aussie label Multi Culti. Apparently they’re no stranger to the edit either, excavating the first one they worked on for a free download.

Ali Ishfahan & George Farid – Focus On The Middle East (Golden Bug Edit)

The latest instalment in the Meant Records free download series, Barcelona’s Golden Bug gives some Middle Eastern psych from 1978 the cut and paste treatment.

Cayn Borthwick – Tools

Most of you will know Sanpo Disco for the outstanding mix series, but did you know they host the occasional free download? Following a couple from Klasse Recordings co-owner Mr. Ho, Melbourne’s Cayn Borthwick has offered up a freebie of his own.

“NO ZU Saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist Cayn Borthwick is undertaking a Master of Music specialising in Interactive Composition. As part of the degree, Cayn has set himself the formidable challenge of producing one piece per week for 52 weeks. One of the 52 was the groundwork for ‘Tools’ – a track that he’s fine-tuned and kindly donated to the Sanpo archives as a free download. Tools is a dubby, sax-laden track, residing somewhere between a freeform avant-disco jam and a 2001 space odyssey. Enjoy!”
