OK SPIRIT is the product of long-term collaboration, a new label formed by the Frankfurt-based triumvirate of N.I.B., DJ Neewt and Kilian Paterson. Sporting an original from unapologetic psychonaut Bear Bones, Lay Low and remixes courtesy of DJ Plead and тпсб, the inaugural record feels like a natural progression to Hotel International, a leftfield-embracing club night they’ve brought to Robert Johnson for several years.
No stranger to meandering structures, ‘Voces De Humo’ is a 17-minute opus steeped in voodoo ceremony and shamanic ritual. Heady electronics are suspended in a constant state of flux and metamorphosis, drum circle percussion providing a strong bedrock for the transcendent moments they illicit. An artist known for trading on sonic experimentation and headphone hypnosis, this is as quintessentially Bear Bones-esque as his paraconscious contribution to the If-Only podcast series.
Voces De Humo is out June 14th on OK SPIRIT – pre-order here.
