Dutch polymath and purveyor of all things post-punk, Danny Borsten, AKA Das Ding, has a back catalogue of cultic decree. Running, designing and making music on the aesthetically stunning and sonically seminal Tear Apart Tapes in the early 1980s, this new wave warhorse has likely been at the front and centre since before you were even born. Add appearances on canonised labels such as Minimal Wave and Pinkman Records to the map and an incredibly reputable geography emerges.
His next outing comes on a VA from Scottish imprint Artificial Horizon alongside a heavyweight team including Timothy J. Fairplay, Antoni Maiovvi and Itako. For the Glasgow label’s maiden release, Das Ding delivers the A2, ‘Insect Apocalypse’; a pulsating peregrination around heavier orbits of analog EBM and Italo. In this synthetic end-times trip, Das Ding provides military grade dancefloor ammo for all the deejais out there.
