The Salvador Ricardo and Len Leise-helmed General Purpose imprint has been providing oddball, new-age delights since 2016. Now primed and ready for its latest outing, a release from multidisciplinary mind and AV extraordinaire Ivan Mašić, AKA Ex Ponto, channels ex-Yugo electronic pioneers of the ’80s à la Rex Ilusivii, Kozmetika and Miha Kralj.

Featuring production and performance assists for improvisational collective, Council of Elders, and experimental, no-wave band, Wunderlust, Mašić’s back catalogue is replete with formative musical experiences. Influencing his own sound, the closing number from Neka Neka is a case in point: visceral, lacquerous qualities lend to a mature, developed listen alongside the layered, earthy shades of prog/psych-rock comprising ‘Vračar’s introspective, downtempo brood.

Neka Neka is out November 29th on General Purpose – pre-order here
