Pushing through dense undergrowth, illusive talent Nelson Of The East emerges from beneath the jungle canopy bearing fresh heat for Copenhagen’s Tartelet Records.
Swiss-born and based out of Milan, P.A.L. might be the follow-up to a debut under this certain alias, but it isn’t the work of a fresh-faced up-and-comer by any means. Drawing on mid-’80s electro-boogie, Italo and synth-heavy computer-funk, ‘Phase Alternating Lines’ kicks things off, but it’s the afro-centric, tribal B-side which leads the EP into humid territory. A digital bonus, Superconscious Records co-founder Fantastic Man remixes the latter, ushering proceedings towards the after-hours with rolling drums and a heavy dose of dubby hypnosis.
P.A.L. is out June 21st on Tartelet Records – pre-order here.
