London-based label Let’s Go Swimming Let’s Go Swimming roll out their second release of 2017 thus far, with newcomer Polly Moneaux delivering the Sideways in Linen EP later this month. Comprised of 5 cuts that traverse both the decadent and contemplative sides of house, techno and everything in between, this latest 12″ has gotten us excited due to the sheer fervour of its A2 cut, ‘Wet On The Wheel’.
As the longest-running tune on offer, ‘Wet On The Wheel’ goes through some striking changes in tone throughout the course of its eventful duration. Initially joyful tones emanate from its figurative ether, until there’s a distinct and tangible paradigm shift, in which Polly Moneaux allows some pummelling bass to enter the equation. Sneering vocal samples accompany the track’s descent into full-on jacking house territory: additional pensive chords also lend the music even further substance, and in the end inevitable kaleidoscopic swirls lead listeners back to the magical place from which this song escaped.
Sideways In Linen is out June 30th on Let’s Go Swimming – pre-order direct from the label here.
