Straight out of Zürich and with bags of attitude, Ozelot Ltd. are back with Bassline Providerz 2. A diverse disc of sonic excess, it keeps form with the label prince Prioleau making his fifth consecutive outing on the imprint. Perhaps surprisingly, this 12” represents his solo debut and he makes his mark, traversing a multitude of genres over the EP’s duration.

Whilst the A-side sees Prioleau dabble with some hard hitting club dialects (feat a heavy dose of razor sharp electro), ‘Subdevision Surface’ on the flip rebalances things with a headsy prescription of cult-kraut ambient introspection. With guitar work by Till Fischer, the B-side both brusquely demands attention and sedates simultaneously. With the atmospherics simmering to a climax, the tracks melancholic narration takes a menacing left turn. Cinematic and grotesque in equal parts: imagine if David Lynch has written the score for Jacobs Ladder. Definitely one for real heads.

Bassline Providerz 2 is out July 26th on Ozelot Ltd. – pre-order here.
