Setting his stall out as a purveyor of warm, sonorous grooves with a cameo on Gnork’s Blorp label, S. Channel is set to make his solo bow on Third Try Records. Following an inaugural effort from Swedish troublemaker Axel Boman, the French producer had some pretty big shoes to fill, but he’s done so with aplomb, dropping 6 beautifully emotive and aerated productions for the Parisian label’s sophomore release.

Rich and woozy, A2 cut ‘Costa Croisière’ is the sort of track best enjoyed when heard in full. Crystalline synths ripple across a soupy low end and like a fine Burgundy red, the full-bodied tone appears to gradually enhance if afforded the time to breathe. Subtle shifts occur with the occasional volley of luminescent bass synth and constantly evolving, S. Channel blends lo-fi, analogue textures and placid melodies into his distinctive, brain-massaging sound.

Never Ending Stories is out January 10th on Third Try Records – pre-order the vinyl here.
