He’s put records out on labels like International Feel, Les Edits Du Golem and Camisole Records, but Shelter always has a home in Plaisir Partagé. Not counting efforts on sub-label Edits Du Plaisir, both releases on the Parisian imprint to date have come courtesy of the prolific producer. Also responsible for their third outing, the impending two-tracker continues where explorations into zouk, ambient and Krautrock left off, further demonstrating an expanding proficiency for putting his spin on age-old leftfield traditions.
Almost the antithesis of its Balearic-leaning counterpart on the flip, A-side’s ‘Smurf Dub Version’ of ‘BIGMOVE’ will galvanise even the most lethargic of dancefloors. An electrified, 808-powered b-boy jam, the rapid-fire volleys of clap, kick bassline enhance and push ’80s electro tropes to exhilarating heights previously uncharted.
BIGMOVE is out soon on Plaisir Partagé – pre-order the vinyl here.
