In the wake of 2019’s Yeah EP, Silvestre lands back on Meda Fury with an all-Lisbon affair. Backing three previously unheard originals with remixes from Príncipe‘s inner-sanctum, DJ Firmeza and LiloCox bring “the ghetto sound of Lisbon” to the London label.

For the uninitiated, Príncipe is a product of the Portuguese capital’s housing estates. Dedicated to championing sounds of Afro-Portuguese origin, the label’s sound was born in the barrios, but releases such as this join dots between Lisbon and Silvestre’s adopted home in the Big Smoke. Taking on the titular track from that aforementioned Yeah EPDJ Firmeza ramps up the tempo, supercharging pre-existing breakbeat patterns for a frenzied cut straight out of the kuduro continuum.
