The latest mini-album to arrive on Berlin-based label Unknown Precept comes from the Brussels-based duo Techno Thriller, made up of Léo Grosheitsch and Hoel Mocé. Enfant de Sodome shows the pair returning to, and building upon, the gothic tumult of their eponymous album, released earlier this year. This is typified on ‘Dark Ages’, an abrasive, direct piece of synth-punk where angular synthesiser stabs and decayed snares underpin harsh brush strokes of whelping, oddball vocals. It’s the closing gambit of an album that works together as an intriguing piece, constantly pulling the listener down further into its gothic, grotesque din.
Enfant de Sodome is out January 14th on Unknown Precept – pre-order direct from the label.
